ReStore Philippines
i went to Habitat for Humanity ReStore along alabang-zapote road to try my luck on their preloved home furnishings. the place was heavily picked over, obviously, since it opened 3 months ago not to mention it's a -ber month. however, there were still tons and tons of construction supplies to choose from if you're in the process of renovating your house.
i'm kicking myself right now since i didn't get these wooden pantry tables for less than a thousand pesos each. they would look really cool with tolix chairs for rustic industrial vibe. hopefully, it's still there when i come back soon. ReStore is worth visiting if you're a non-consumerist like me or a lover of all things vintage.
i didn't go home empty-handed though as i was able to purchase a dozen of 15 watts philips energy-saving bulbs for only 1100 pesos and four 500 ml dishwashing liquid for only 25 pesos a piece. the price tag alone is a win, and thinking it's for a good cause, is a double win.

foot stool and bamboo tray from treasure trove
it's been raining heavily here in the south, but nothing can stop me from searching for budget-friendly local home goods. i found these two beauties at treasure trove, festival mall, alabang.
first up is this large-sized bamboo tray for only 500 pesos. the original price was 550 pesos but i was fortunate enough to be given a discount by the lovely shop attendants. i will be using this to corral our small kitchen items just to make them less dreadful. besides, everything looks good in a tray.
next is this lovely wooden foot stool that i paired with a ghost chair. it's quite unexpected but i love the result. for only 750 pesos, i must bring it home with me.
another kitty-approved move.

indian rug
i happened upon this gorgeous handmade wall rug at (of all places!) S&R alabang branch. i love the color combination and how it adds warmth to our living room. also, the orange in the rug picks up the orange in our wall, which made this lovely piece a well-thought-out addition. i used it as a throw blanket for our wooden daybed, but somehow, my little rascals thought it was a good idea to sleep on it.

handyman's 50% off mason jars
hello, blog friends!
i was so thrilled to see ball mason jars at 50% off today at handyman store. it was originally priced at 1100 pesos for a dozen of 32oz variety but i paid only 550 pesos. i'm planning to buy a few more because you can never have enough mason jars, really. just google "mason jar uses" and it will lead you to tons and tons of unique ideas. as for me, i used them in our kitchen to hold my supply of milk, coffee, hot chocolates, and of course, more chocolates. it's a limited offer so run to your nearest handyman store now.

thrifting: triams enterprises 12/12/2015
i super adore this ah-ma-zing floor lamp with tripod legs from triams enterprises. it has a vintage industrial flair that truly speaks to my design aesthetic. it is in excellent condition and just required a little bit of wipe-out to clean the sticker glue. also, all wiring are intact and ready to be used as pointed out by the shop personnel. my brother actually found it first, but decided not to buy it because he has the same floor lamp in smaller size that he got for almost four thousand pesos at our home, mall of asia. well, mine was purchased for a sweet, sweet price of 1500 pesos.

kultura filipino: tray chic
i got very lucky with loots of wooden trays from kultura filipino, sm southmall that i had to purchase on the spur of the moment. they look really nice with a stack of magazines in our pedestal table. the price made them even more desirable at 500 pesos for a set of two. another pretty and practical purchase from my favorite curator of local goods.

new bench from all home and updated room tour
hello, blog friends!
i visited all home, imus branch today after i received a catalogue-slash-invitation from them. i didn't really plan on buying anything new, but i came across this park bench in matte black that i just had to have. i thought the size, design, and color will go perfectly well with my tiny bedroom. i got it for a discounted price of 4000 pesos because of minor scratches.
i switched to a queen-sized mattress right on the floor because it reflects my bohemian side. also, i have a very low ceiling since this space was a walk-in closet before. the lovely bedding was a sale purchase at sm department store for only 750 pesos. i adore the indochine butterfly print in purple background.
i am wavering whether to keep or toss the plastic hangers because i found a bunch of affordable wooden hangers at japan homes, imus branch. i might re-use them instead to hang my laundry outdoor. i kept the yellow hangers because the accumulative price of wooden hangers was out of my budget. besides, they add a pop of color in this matte black room.
ikea hyllis turned bookshelf. practical and affordable.
here is my collection of vedasto leather bags. the back of door is a great place to store your bags because you can grab them easily before heading out of the house. not to mention, they look pretty nice displayed and be admired every day.

kultura filipino: carabao horn
i picked this one-of-a-kind carabao horn at kultura filipino, landmark branch for unbelievable price of 420 pesos. i had to blink multiple times just to be sure it didn't have any additional zeros in the price tag. it was the last piece, and so i guess i just got really lucky that day.
after removing the nylon string, it found a sweet spot on top of my ikea hyllis turned bookshelf. the tension between the smooth surface and organic feel of the horn turned out beautifully.
