tolix chairs!

these are not real tolix chairs, but are beautiful nonetheless.  i had been searching and searching for low-priced tolix reproduction chairs for quite a while now.  lazada has them for 15,000 pesos for a set of four.  this is, obviously, way beyond my budget so i never pulled the trigger.  as cliche as it may sound, patience is truly a virtue because i finally found them at all home located at starmall, molino road.  the got the chairs at 2500 pesos a piece, which was a real bargain as compared to online price.

here they are looking very handsome in our dining area.

two tolix chairs also found a sweet spot in our living space.

just in case you're wondering, the gorgeous black and white throw pillow covers are from mestiza interiors.  they provide just the right amount of neutral to our upbeat color scheme.

pre-christmas bazaar, lumina point (update)

the pre-christmas bazaar held at lumina point was finally over.  the sales were quite disappointing to be very honest.  most shoppers were not really willing to shell out money for vintage bags and clothing - but - what's more important than numbers was the experience we got from the bazaar.  we will never forget all our lovely customers, who were mostly moms with high sense of style and with extra money to spare.  it was sooooo much fun entertaining with them in our booth!

also, i was able to meet the charming and creative sellers of berry drop shop.  i picked a few edible and ornamental indoor plants for a super steal price.  my favorite is the zz plant or welcome plant, which is a good feng-shui according to them.  this will be my first foray to indoor gardening so wish me luck.

prior to the bazaar, my sister and i set up a mini-booth in our living room so that our neighbors could have a little private party-slash-snack party sale.  it was truly impressive.  we sold a lot of our items, and in the process, made friends with a handful of lovely people from our subdivision.  i was able to raise enough fund to buy a set of my dream chair, a reproduction of tolix by xavier pauchard.  i can hardly wait to get my hands on them!

washroom makeover

hello, blog friends!

to take my mind off the super crazy preparation for tomorrow's pre-christmas bazaar, here's a post about our tiny washroom makeover.  this much-needed renovation was long overdue.  the mismatched white and grey tiles were replaced with mottled black tiles from mariwasa.  it was a best buy at 34 pesos a piece.  this gave us enough budget to splurge on a set of flush-saving water closet.

the walls were then painted in matte black (a counterintuitive move) since this is a small and windowless space.  the tiles are high enough to prevent stains from coming in contact with the walls.  i also painted the ceiling in the same color as the walls to diminish all borders.  this visual trick will make the ceiling appear much higher than it really is.  adding wall sconces to this space is too much of  a work, and so we skipped this part.  instead, we hung a large-sized mirror to reflect the one and only source of light.  the towels and stainless steel accents provide a nice contrast to the space.

this is how it looked like before and during the makeover.

i still find it odd that i let you guys see our washroom, welp.
