kultura filipino: banig bag and pear decors
i visited kultura filipino at sm makati to specifically look for decorative balls, but instead i went home with a gorgeous dark brown woven mat bag and twine pear home accents. i spotted a ton of swoon-worthy philippine-made bags at the shop, which i didn't buy because i thought they were too feminine for my taste. well, except for this one. i excitedly picked this banig bag since it instantly spoke to my heart. very tribal chic, no?
after i spent a good amount of time ooohhh-ing and aaahhh-ing at the bag section, i swiftly went to hunt for decorative balls. i found beautiful smooth acacia wood deco balls but for some odd reason, they were not perfect enough for our center table. i probably needed something with more texture like abaca or any dried natural fiber materials. deco balls can wait for now. so, i got these super cute abaca and bacbac twine pear decors instead. they will look really nice on top of stacked ceramic plates for added contrast.
i got all these great items for less than 1 thousand pesos. not bad, not bad at all.
