industrial with asian flair for a friend

i designed this house for a fellow transgender friend on year 2012.  it took us literally blood and sweats just to make the house habitable again.  however, designing the interior of this small house was quite fun and memorable.  we spent countless hours scouring second hand shops and home depots for bargain finds. i recently found out though that the place got sold because she needed to settle somewhere north.

as you can see, two or more looks can work as long as you love what you bring inside your house.  don't be afraid to mix and match.

adjacent to the convertible daybed is her dining area.  it is compact with high legs, which is great for small spaces like this because you can see more of the floor.  also, the thin legs provide balance to all the heavy furnishings.

her bed with tons of storage underneath.  elongated mirror to enhance natural light and soften the space.  the substantial cabinet in front of her bed serves as a room divider and closet.

 finally, with the fabulous sandra.

600 pesos guest room makeover update

i love the comforting warmth of the space, which is especially perfect for today's rainy weather.  i could cuddle up in the daybed, get my favorite book, a cup of coffee, and just let time pass away.

i didn't spend anything for this room update because i borrowed all the recent additions from other areas of our house.  this is a great tip to shake up your design without breaking the bank.  plus, i'm a huge fan of mixing up old and new.
