diy: decoupaged windows

i just love, love, love decoupage!  especially with old book pages because it adds so much personality and vintage appeal.  plus, i can do it on the cheap with the help of homemade decoupage medium.  i used elmer's glue-all and you can get the recipe here.

old windows before.

taped and ready for matte black paint.  dry fully.

masking tape removed and ready for decoupage.  i used a thicker version.

don't worry about the wrinkles because it won't be too obvious when your project dries completely.  what you should be concerned about are the air pockets and bubbles because it will result to poor adhesion.

the next day, i applied davies acrylic emulsion.  it has a consistency of evaporated milk, but it dries clear with a little bit of shine.  dry for approximately 4 hours.

done!  this is how it looks like in our tv room!

and, this is how it looks like in my walk-in closet!  i'm planning to convert it into a super tiny bedroom-slash-work space soon!
